Haarstick cruising spinnakers represent the state-of-the-art in offwind cruising headsails. Each is specifically designed for the small day-sailor/ "pocket cruiser" to the larger blue-water cruising yacht and everything in between. All share the distinct advantages of wearing the Haarstick label. As with all Haarstick sails, design superiority, superior fabrics and attention to construction and finishing details assure you of the finest cruising spinnaker on the water. Add a ChuteSCOOP and you're ready for off-wind performance sailing that's as easy as 1-2-3!
The Chuting Star is a Tri-radial asymmetrically shaped offwind cruising sail designed specifically for the needs of the cruising sailor. Racers eat your heart out. This is one sail that is strictly for cruisers. Our Chuting Star is a hybrid sail that offers the best features of both genoas and spinnakers. Combine the aerodynamics of a deeply cambered reaching genoa with the projected area of a spinnaker and you have our new Chuting Star.
The Chuting Star is specifically designed for the cruising yacht and is packed with features:

Speed: As the saying
goes, "fast is fun!" Racers and cruisers alike agree on
this. The Haarstick Chuting Stars provide
the extra go-power your boat needs for a new dimension of fun in
offwind sailing. Turn those light-air summer days into pleasant
cruises rather than another day listening to the endless droning
of the "Iron Genny."
Durability: To build the best sails, you have to use the best sailcloth. To be sure you are using the best fabrics, you must subject them to the most thorough testing program in the sailmaking industry. Nobody knows sail cloth like Haarstick. Nobody tests sailcloth like Haarstick. Construction techniques are just as important. Proper panel engineering, corner construction and seam assembly play a vital role in the longevity of your sails. The benefits of our attention to detail are visible in every sail we make. Our cloth testing program combined with our centralized cutting facility and fabric inventory is fundamental to our sailmaking system. As an industry leader in the field of sail design and construction, you will be able to count on your new Haarstick cruising spinnaker for years to come.
Value: Compare us to the competition! No other sail is built with as much attention to detail as a Haarstick sail. Engineering excellence, exhaustive fabric testing, strong customer service and attractive prices all add up to solid value.
Additional & Standard Options: Most come standard with a ChuteSCOOP and Round Turtle Bag, but larger (boats over 35 feet) should opt for the ATN Spinnaker Sleeve. It has a fiberglass flared mouth for easy sliding over the Nylon spinnaker. ATN also makes The Tacker, a fiberglass slide to go over the furled genoa on the forestay. The Tacker keeps the luff of your cruising spinnaker at the forestay for the best performance. Talk to your Haarstick representative to find out what options are best for you.
